For our client, a Nordic organisation expanding its Finance Services Centre, we are seeking candidates eager to develop their careers in accounting in an international environment.
THE ROLE
As a GL Accountant, you will support AP, AR, and GL activities for primarily smaller company entities within the Finance Shared Service Centre. This role provides broad exposure across accounting processes and includes transactional work, reconciliations, and participation in month-end closing and reporting activities.
The role proactively supports the ongoing development of Record‑to‑Report processes for smaller entities and contributes to harmonised accounting practices.
Key responsibilities
- Perform bank transaction postings related to sales entities
- Process substitute bank transaction postings when required
- Handle customer credit limit requests
- Monitor outstanding receivables and prepare reminder letters
- Manage late payment interest invoices and support collection activities
- Respond to AR-related inquiries and clarification requests
- Perform corrections, reallocations, and ad hoc accounting entries
- Month-End Activities
- Support monthly closing activities for assigned sales entities
- Perform bank account reconciliations
- Execute cash pool reconciliations
- Reconcile Accounts Receivable balances
- Perform payroll and salary-related GL reconciliations
- Prepare and post accruals
- Support VAT reporting activities
- Prepare Balance Sheet specifications and supporting documentation
- Assist in management reporting and preparation of financial figures
Requirements
- Approximately 1–3 years of experience in accounting, AP, AR, or GL
- Relevant education in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration
- Experience in an SSC or international environment is an advantage.
- Experience working with ERP systems
- Good communication skills in English
- Hybrid model of work (2/3 days per week in the office)
